How We Treat
At Balance House, we believe in healing through connection and support. Our holistic, attachment-driven approach combines trauma-informed care, experiential therapies, and family involvement to for deep emotional healing.
Specialized Therapies
With a variety of specialized therapies, including equine and occupational therapy, we empower individuals and their families to rebuild trust, overcome trauma, and develop lasting, meaningful connections. Our specialized therapies include:
| Attachment-Driven Program: | Our approach is based on the belief that many clinical issues stem from interpersonal relationships and attachment wounds. We work with clients and their families to rebuild trust, set appropriate boundaries, and express emotions, fostering secure attachments and healing. |
| Trauma Treatment: | Led by certified trauma therapists, our clinical team provides trauma-informed care and has extensive training in various modalities. We create a safe, empathetic environment to address trauma, focusing on safety, empowerment, and collaboration. |
| Experiential Therapy: | We use experiential therapy to enhance recovery through activities like Climbing, longboarding, hiking, fishing, skiing, and paddle boarding. Clients arriving between November and March receive a season pass to Solitude Ski Resort. |
| Occupational Therapy: | Occupational therapy focuses on helping individuals develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. It treats a range of conditions, including physical, mental, and developmental challenges. This therapy aims to improve a person’s ability to perform everyday activities, such as self-care, work, and leisure, by addressing issues like mobility, fine motor skills, cognitive functions, and emotional well-being. |
| Psychological Testing and Medication Management: | Psychological testing and medication management are integral to our approach. We conduct assessments after 30-60 days for accuracy and manage medication throughout the stay and during aftercare, teaching patient’s medication management for long-term success. |
| Family Involvement: | Family work begins upon admission, with weekly therapy sessions, update calls, and a two-day in-person family intensive. This process helps families reconnect, engage in therapy, and address painful experiences, promoting long-term healing and recovery. |
| The Hub Family Support Group: | Every Tuesday night, we host a family support group via Zoom. This gathering allows families to connect, share experiences, and find mutual support, fostering deep, lasting relationships. |
